THE RED SUITCASE PROJECT

THE RED SUITCASE PROJECT is a program for
students - from high school through to postgraduate. RED SUITCASE is a journey about stopping, looking, listening, feeling and finally ACTION. The workshop is also suitable for high school and tertiary students.
For the lucky few who recognise their calling from a young age - they have a vision and possibly the means to get there. For most of us, choosing a life path is a journey that takes time, patience, self awareness and confidence. We want to make wise career and life choices, often whilst facing a bewildering array of options.

RED SHOES
RED SHOES is a sassy, passionate and empowering women's workshop that is inspired by Dorothy’s ruby red slippers. You may recall
in the movie, The Wizard of Oz, that Dorothy is desperate to find her way back home. To help her find her path, she is given
the red shoes by Glinda, the Witch of the North. She travels onto Oz without
realising that all she needed to do was to click those red heels and she would have been home. She had all the resources she needed with her from the beginning of her quest!
Our Calling is like this. It is already within us. It is the silent voice that is waiting to be heard and acknowledged. RED SHOES explores the ages and stages of a woman’s life, her sensuality, femininity and power; her creativity and longings; her joys and sorrows. It is a passionate journey of uncovering as much as discovering. It is the opportunity to start a conversation that names something deep within and it just may ignite a purpose that transforms your life. It is also an empowering opportunity to hear the stories of other women.
RED SHOES can be tailor-made to suit the needs of a group. It also can be offered as an individual coaching program, a presentation or as a pilgrimage companion.
“Red Shoes is ideal for women wanting to fulfil their potential, exploring getting back into the workforce, adjusting their life’s meaning after a significant loss, seeking authenticity or wanting to explore their feminine energy and creativity.”
CROSS-ROADS
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less travelled by,
and that has made all the difference.
ROBERT FROST
Life is a series of endings, cross-roads and new beginnings. Some of these moments of change we choose, some are imposed whilst others are a consequence of the natural ages and stages of life. Such times offer us the opportunity to re-examine what is important to us and the meaning we give to our life.
Based upon The Callings Program’s™ pioneering research into personal and career transitions, CROSS-ROADS is a practical and inspiring workshop that provides guidelines for recognising what we are meant to become and transforming this vision into career, life and business opportunities.
“Several years down the track I still refer to my callings statement and transcript-these are amongst my most closely held personal documents. I am thrilled that I am still on track!”
We explore questions that can naturally arise:
- Why is it important to discover your calling?
- What is a calling?
- What are the differences between a job, a career and a calling?
- Does everyone have a calling?
- How do I find and follow my calling?
- What happens when you say no to your calling?
- Why should I explore the impact of grief and loss upon my aspirations for the future?
- How do I let go and move on?
- How do I re-invent myself?
- How do I face fears such as: Am I good enough? What if I fail? What if it is the wrong calling? What if I lose my savings? Will I need to retrain? How do I deal with the disapproval of others?
- Why does living your calling lead to success at work?
- What next? How do I create an action plan?
“I needed to change the course of my life and Cross-Roads showed me how at a time when I was lost and lacking confidence. I now have a renewed sense of possibilities and direction.”

A CALL TO LEAD
Whether leaders follow a religious or spiritual practice or not, our research found that many leaders of passion and conviction believe that they have a specific "call to lead".
Leaders stress the importance of being able to identify, articulate and live their own vision, which in turn informs the vision of the organisation or group they lead. Leaders describe their calling as driven by a desire for meaning, purpose and achievement. Frequently expressed values include service, courage, contribution, community, humility, authenticity, growth, legacy, commitment, integrity, gratitude, creativity and success.
- Identify and articulate your calling
- Explore your uniqueness, deepest values and motivators
- What do you feel called to be and do?
- Re-affirm your known calling
- Confirm your uniqueness and personal brand
- Create personal stories and narratives that communicate your vision
- Identify the signs of "career rut"
- Reflect on whether your inner and outer callings are in harmony
- Choose a way of life and work
- How to sustain passion and purpose
- Manage the shadow side of a calling
- Address obstacles, resistance and the cost of saying no to your calling
- Reflect upon your hopes for a legacy
- Create an action plan that informs the essential aspects of your life.
"My coaching sessions have had more impact on my life, career and success than any other development initiative I have ever taken. Through “The Callings Program” I was able to uncover and express my life purpose. As a result, I didn’t have to leave the organisation I was with and have forged a new direction and passion."
